"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
Faith is not blind; it is the substance of things hoped for. The writer of Hebrews paints a picture of men and women who moved through life anchored not to what they could see, touch, or feel—but to what God had spoken.
Consider Abraham, who left his homeland without knowing where he was going. Consider Moses, who forsook the riches of Egypt because he saw the One who is invisible. These were not reckless people. They were people deeply rooted in the character of a faithful God.
Today, you may be facing a situation where everything looks uncertain. The diagnosis doesn't look good, the finances are stretched thin, the relationship is strained. Faith does not deny the reality of what you see—it simply refuses to give that reality the final word.
Today's Prayer: Father, strengthen my faith today. Where I am tempted to walk by sight, help me to walk by Your Word. I choose to anchor my soul in Your promises. Let my trust in You be the foundation on which I stand. Amen.
Reflection: What area of your life are you struggling to trust God with? Write it down and bring it to Him in prayer today.
